Blue & Brown Circle Invitations May 31, 2007

Lauren and Chris came to me with their color scheme, a budget and a circle pattern that they liked. I did 3 different samples for them. Here are 2 they didn’t choose:

A long bi-fold invitation

A square invitation with inserts on the back

The final choice was a square invitation with a brown envelope. The envelope featured circle windows revealing the invitation inside. Instead of an inner envelope there was a simple vellum insert. The invitation opens up and the response card detaches at a perforated fold. A map is tucked in the backside of the invitation.

Graduation May 31, 2007

This graduation invitation was based on a tree that the graduate liked and features a quote the graduate also likes. Leisha just let me do whatever so this is what I came up with. I like how the green pops against the black, white and gray.

Change of Address May 31, 2007

Rick and Jan are moving twice this year and so they wanted one announcement to take care of both moves. I found these great map envelopes so I went with a map theme for the inside as well.

Cherry Blossom invitations May 23, 2007

Aaron & Ashley wanted something with cherry blossoms (reminiscent of their recent trip to Japan) and they wanted something different. They were going to need 2 different invitations. One invitation for the ceremony for a small group of family and close friends. The second invitation was for the reception. They were both really receptive to everything which makes my job easy and fun.

The basic idea was to have branches of cherry blossom buds with a couple of open blossoms. For the ceremony invitation, the whole thing was a blossom. The blossom was tied with olive green suede ties with little cherry blossom buds at the ends. The envelopes were lined with the cherry blossom branches and sealed on the outside with a pink dot.

$9.75 each

The reception invitation featured the same blossom motif but in a bi-fold style.

$4.50 each

The response cards featured a cherry blossom branch with open buds to be filled in for the appropriate response.

The vellum blossoms really gave the invitation depth.

This was one of the initial samples that was done when Aaron and Ashley hadn’t decided between pink & green or pink & blue. Bi-fold style invitation with multiple pages. Circle cut outs reveal the vellum blossom on each page. The response card is folded up into a cherry blossom bud. The response card envelope is carried by butterflies on the back.

I love early planners! (tree pocketfold invitation) May 22, 2007

Melissa had a pretty clear idea of what she wanted for invitations in terms of design and budget. Her colors are green, brown and ivory and the wedding theme is trees (my favorite). She would also need 2 inserts- an info card with accomodations and maps and of course a response card. She gave me this image of a picture she and her fiance have of a tree they really like.

Based on that, I came up with a tree graphic and laid out 3 different schemes within Melissa’s budget.

Scheme #1- brown pocketfold (portrait layout) with a khaki envelope

Scheme #2- brown pocketfold (landscape layout). The tree graphic was enlarged and used as a background and leaves were introduced as an accent.

Scheme #3- Green bi-fold invitation with a brown envelope. I wanted to present a scheme that flipped the color concentrations of the above schemes, so green was the main color.

Melissa chose Scheme 1. I’ll post the final invitation proof once we have it worked out. We are also working on escort cards, table numbers and programs. Melissa has been so great to work with and I love that she is starting early for her June 2008 wedding!

Orchid invitations May 22, 2007

Stacy emailed and requested some budget friendly invitations that were teal and chocolate brown and incorporated orchids. Here is the finished product:

$3.40 each

Stacy also asked for information on thank you cards. I did 2 mock ups for her. They are both bi-fold cards. The teal card is just white on the inside with the orchids wrapping around the outside of the card. The chocolate card has a cut out that reveals the orchid that is on the inside of the card. Bachelorette party invitations- not G rated May 19, 2007

I received a request to do bachelorette party invitations from Angie with the only stipulation being: think dirty. Well, as you can see, these are pretty subtle. I had jokingly suggested we put a picture of the bride to be on the end of the invitation and, to my surprise, Angie replied “let’s do that”. Just click on thumbnails for full size image.

Angie was kind enough to forward me the bride-to-be’s reaction- “digustingly hilarious”. Success!
