I did Jennifer’s sister’s wedding invitations (see here) so when I was approached to do the Save the Dates for Jennifer, I was thrilled! Jennifer had a pretty good idea of what she wanted. Since her wedding is going to be in Turks & Caicos, she wanted either a plane ticket style or postcard style save the date. She decided on the postcard style. We went a couple of rounds with the design. The first designs were very vintage-y. The final design is what I would call ‘tourist-y modern’ :), based on the typical type of postcards you see in vacation destinations. The fonts are casual and I used corals and blues for a bright, tropical feel. Due to the amount of information Jennifer needed to include, the ‘postcard’ ended up being a 5×7 folded card. But for all intents and purposes it looks like a postcard, complete with ‘postage’ and ‘postmarks’ that Jennifer found from Turks & Caicos (love the lizard!). The cards were then enclosed in a clear envelope so that they would arrive looking just like a vacation postcard.
